Adult Life
I know I'm not the only adult in this world that's tired of being an adult. When we're younger we are so press to grow up and be older then what we are. What if we could have seen our future back then I wonder how different many of us would have turned out. Would we still be the same?, better, or worse off then we are now. Me personally I was so press to be 18 and then 21 so I could really feel like I was good and grown. They have this old saying "If I knew then what I know now" that truly applies to me what if I knew what I know now back then. I don't think I would have been so quick to grow up because truth be told adult life not all what it's cracked up to be. Stuff can be a little exciting at first and it's okay, but it's that moment when you have one responsibility after another and things really get real. You have to maintain a job to fully support yourself because let's be real who really want to take care of a grown person their entire life. So after you maintain a job for a while you have to work hard to keep it and not go ham, turkey sausage biscuit. Let's keep it real some of us work very fast pace and stressful jobs so some days it's a struggle just to get through the day but most people don't realize that. As you get older you really have to think before speaking but on a job when a person(s) on your nerves it gets real keeping all that inside and being the "bigger person". Yeah some of us are the bigger person on the outside but a stone cold thug on the inside. Yes biting your tongue is so hard but let's be honest sometimes you have to show up and show out because folks can really try to take your kindness for weakness. That's another blog in the future though (lol) but seriously after that you have to find your own place and be accountable for your own bills and at that moment you truly feel like giving back this adult lifestyle. If only it were that easy right?, but that's also a bitter sweet thing because yes bills can get real but every month when you look at it you're making it. Yes it's easy to want to quit and give up but when you look back on it God have you under his wing. Every month you're able to pay rent/mortgage that's a blessing being able to pay your car note that's another blessing. Having food, clothes, shoes, tooth paste, etc etc etc are blessings even the air we breathe and being able to wake up every morning is a blessing most of us take for granted. I can go on and on and on about all of the little things that so many people go without and that many more take for granted. Yes this adult life can get hard and stressful and just make you want to throw your hands up and quit but what good would that do? There are some who choose to give up,but those of us who stand tall and fight on truly can appreciate any good that come our way. I'm a true believer that God wouldn't bring you thus far to leave you now. I have too much to look forward to for me to just throw up my hands and quit. I have a daughter that watches everything I do so what type of role model would I be for her if I just gave up? I said all this to say it don't matter how real the struggle is God have me, ,my family, and this whole world covered. So I have to keep pushing and keep walking by faith and not by sight.
